LAX Metro Transit Center Station

Located near Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, this state-of-the-art facility will serve as a critical transfer hub for the Metro C and K Lines, multiple local bus routes, and the new LAX Automated People Mover. Partially funded through Measure M, the transportation sales tax approved by L.A. County voters in 2016, the project is on schedule for completion in fall 2024, with connections to the Automated People Mover expected by April 2025.

Encore Building Products is proud to contribute to the ongoing construction of the LAX Metro Transit Center Station, a key component in the city’s broader efforts to improve access, mobility, and safety for millions of travelers.

Encore Building Products has played a central role in supplying advanced seismic expansion joint systems for the project. These systems are vital to ensuring the safety and structural integrity of the station, allowing it to withstand both seismic events and everyday thermal movement. By working in close collaboration with the architectural team at Gruen and Associates, the build team at Tutor Perini Corporation, and Southwest Specialty Contracting of Corona, CA, Encore has provided technical expertise, project support, and product delivery to meet the high-performance demands of this landmark development.

The LAX Metro Transit Center Station is part of the larger Landside Access Modernization Program, which aims to reduce traffic congestion around the airport and create a seamless, multi-modal travel experience. Key features of the new facility include:

  • A 16-bay bus plaza
  • A multi-level active transportation and bike hub
  • A full-service customer center
  • Direct access to the LAX Automated People Mover

Upon completion, the station will not only improve airport accessibility but also serve as a bold new point of arrival into Los Angeles. It’s a project built on partnerships and forward-thinking solutions—exactly the kind of initiative that Encore Building Products is proud to support.
